There were 3,034 reported cases of dengue in Quezon City from January 1 to August 6 this year, one of the highest among the country’s cities and municipalities. This was 29 percent of the 10,487 reported dengue cases in the National Capital Region during the same period.

There were a total of 45,333 reported dengue cases in the country from January 1 to August 6 this year, or around 33.5 percent lower than the 68,168 cases reported in the same period in 2010. Of the total this year, 23 percent, or 10,487 cases, were from the National Capital Region, the highest among the country’s regions.
